Summary

Premier Oil Andaman Limited began drilling the Timpan-1 exploration well in the Andaman II Block on May 10, 2022, to test and evaluate the potential gas content in the Timpan Structure. The offshore exploration well is located 150 km north of Lhokseumawe City, Aceh Province, with a depth of 4,236 ft. The British energy company is drilling the well vertically using the Drill Ship West Capella drilling rig until it reaches 14,457-ft deep. The drilling is included in the deepwater category. The company is currently drilling Lubang 26, expectedly completed in three months.

Upstream Oil and Gas Special Regulatory Task Force (SKK Migas) deputy for operations Julius Wiratno expressed his appreciation and support for Premier Oil's drilling project in the Andaman II Block. "This shows that Indonesia's upstream oil and gas potential is still promising," Julius said on Thursday.
