Here Are Jokowi's Agendas in the United States
President Joko Widodo is currently in the United States to attend a special ASEAN summit in Washington DC on May 11-13, 2022. On the sidelines of the meeting, Jokowi will meet with President Joe Biden and several chief executive officers (CEOs) of big companies in the United States. "Indonesia hopes that the ASEAN summit will result in partnerships and contribute to peace, stability, and prosperity in the region," Jokowi said on Tuesday.
Securing partnerships during the summit is wide open because there will be several meetings attended by stakeholders from the private sector and member-country representatives. Jokowi will also meet with US vice president Kamala Harris to talk about climate change. "We are ready to synergize with all ASEAN countries, including the United States, in developing concrete, inclusive, and mutually beneficial cooperation," Jokowi said.
