Beware of New Epidemic of Acute Hepatitis

Hepatitis
Summary

The government is increasing vigilance and conducting cross-sectoral epidemiological surveillances in dealing with acute hepatitis of an unknown etiology. Main Expert Staff of the Presidential Executive Office (KSP) Brian Sriprahastuti revealed that such an effort should be taken immediately if symptomatic patients are found with signs of acute hepatitis, especially in children under the age of 11 years. "Investigation on the cause of acute hepatitis is carried out per case, including through a complete virus panel examination," Brian said on Friday. The government has issued circulars addressed to health service facilities, regional governments, the Port Health Offices (KKP), and stakeholders as early warnings.
