BNI Embraces Partnership with Sea Ltd to Build a Digital Bank

PT Bank Negara Indonesia Tbk (BBNI) is expanding its digital banking business. BNI President Director Royke Tumilaar stated that the acquisition process of Bank Mayora, which will be transformed into a digital bank focusing on the micro, small, and medium enterprises, has been completed.

“Now we are preparing for Bank Mayora's business development. It has involved our tech partner, Sea Limited or Shopee owner," Royke said at the BNI’s virtual Public Expose for Q1/2022 Tuesday.

According to him, BNI and Sea have prepared a business model and designed IT for Bank Mayora. Therefore, a team based in Indonesia and abroad has been formed to develop the technology.
