Big Funding Wave for Content Creator Startups
The wave of funding for startups providing content creator platforms is getting bigger. An integrated platform for content creators in Southeast Asia, TipTip, raised US$10 million or around Rp 143.5 billion in seed funding led by East Ventures. Other investors participating in this funding are Vertex, Emtek, SMDV, and several family offices.
TipTip operates in Indonesia and Singapore and has a team of more than 70 employees. TipTip founder Albert Lucius said TipTip aims to be the platform of choice for content creators to monetize their hobbies. For example, through personalized video sessions, selling premium digital content, and opportunities to interact directly with their followers.
According to him, TipTip can fill the gap in some essential features faced by content creators from developing countries in Southeast Asia, such as the lack of monetization opportunities, limited local payments, and challenges related to content creation and distribution through smartphones.
