Lazada, the Dark Horse in the E-commerce Market
The global market research company, Ipsos, presented the results of its latest survey on consumer perceptions of delivery services on e-commerce platforms in Indonesia. This survey was conducted face-to-face in January, involving 1,051 respondents spread across 15 major cities in Indonesia. The delivery service criteria in this survey cover three main factors: delivery duration, delivery options or courier service choices, and delivery tracking feature.
Based on these criteria, the Ipsos survey is summarized as follows: First, from the duration of delivery, most respondents (52 percent) rate Tokopedia as e-commerce with the fastest delivery service. Shopee is in second place (45 percent), followed by Lazada (43 percent), OLX (40 percent), and Bukalapak (30 percent).
The second variable is the delivery services variety. As many as 33 percent of respondents said Tokopedia offers more delivery service options. Shopee occupies the second position with 28 percent, followed by Lazada (26 percent), Blibli (25 percent), and OLX (20 percent). Third, based on the tracking feature, 29 percent said Tokopedia has informative delivery or order tracking feature. It was followed by Shopee (18 percent), Lazada (16 percent), and Bukalapak and Blibli with 11 percent each.
"Delivery service is crucial because it greatly influences the shopping experience and consumer satisfaction, especially when the delivery service is fast and easy to track," Lioni Halim, Ipsos Indonesia Brand Health Tracking Research Director, explained.
