OJK Revokes UangTeman's Business License
The Financial Services Authority (OJK) has revoked the business license of peer-to-peer (P2P) lending fintech UangTeman. In an official statement, the OJK revealed that there were only 102 licensed fintech lenders in Indonesia. "One business license on fintech lending has been revoked, that of PT Digital Alpha Indonesia or UangTeman," OJK revealed on Thursday.
UangTeman management has not released any clarification regarding this matter. However, in November 2021, OJK Non-Bank Financial Industry (IKNB) head Bambang Budiawan said he had already asked UangTeman to submit a commitment plan to improve its performance since it had not been able to pay employees' salaries and income taxes (PPh). "We keep closely monitoring the commitment implementation," he told Katadata.co.id.
