Canada Funds Land4Lives Project in Indonesia for CAD 16.8 Mln
In collaboration with Global Affairs Canada, World Agroforestry (ICRAF) Indonesia initiated the Sustainable Landscapes for Climate Resilient Livelihoods (Land4Lives) project in South Sumatra, South Sulawesi, and East Nusa Tenggara. This project is worth CAD 16.8 million or approximately Rp 192 billion, fully funded by the Government of Canada, and lasts for five years from 2021 to 2026. Land4Lives aims to support the government's efforts to achieve national development priorities in creating the climate and food security livelihoods for vulnerable communities, particularly women and girls.
Canadian Embassy to Indonesia Richard Le Bars said the Feminist International Assistance Policy project was Canada's flagship climate project with Indonesia. "This represents a concrete effort by our government to deliver on Canada's international commitment to developing countries' climate finance to support the transition to sustainable and climate-resilient development," Le Bars said on Friday.
