PT Smelting Expands Copper Smelter Capacity to 342,000 Tons

PT Smelting increased the production capacity of its copper smelter in Gresik, East Java, to 342,000 tons of copper cathode per year from the previous 300,000 tons. The subsidiary of Freeport-McMoRan Inc. has prepared an investment of Rp 3.2 trillion to increase the capacity of the first and only copper smelter in Indonesia. The groundbreaking of the construction will take place on February 19, 2022, marked by the laying of the first stone by the Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto and Minister of Industry Agus Gumiwang.

Director of Smelting Business and Commercial Development Irjuniawan P.
