Polemic of Andesite Mining in Wadas Village Continues

The polemic over the andesite mining permit in Wadas Village, Purworejo Regency, Central Java continues. The Executive Director of the Center of Energy and Resources Indonesia (CERI) Yusri Usman suspects that the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Arifin Tasrif and the Director-General of Mineral and Coal Ridwan Djamaluddin have ignored or even violated the laws and regulations over andesite mining for the construction of the Bener Dam in Purworejo Regency, Central Java.
"The ESDM Minister said before the Energy Commission of the House that mining andesite for Bener Dam construction does not require a permit. This statement indicates that the Minister has ignored the legislation," Yusri said Friday.
Yusri explained point (2) Article 133 of Government Regulation (PP) No. 96/2021 on the Mineral and Coal Management states that a Rock Mining Permit (SIPB) for certain purposes is given for some time following the contract period or agreement 44 for the implementation of a funded development project. by the central government and local governments. "So, it is clear that the laws and regulations require a permit to mine andesite rocks for Bener Dam construction," he said.
