Huawei, Aesler Enter Indonesia's Data Center Business

China-based technology company Huawei Technologies Co Ltd, through Huawei Digital Power, plans to develop three data centers across Indonesia by signing cooperation with PT Aesler Grup Internasional Tbk (RONY) in December 2021. Both parties agreed to build data centers with a capacity of 88 megawatts (MW). It has started work on the first data center facility.

Aesler Data Center's first project will be launched this year. In the project, Huawei will provide prefabricated data center modules to Aesler. The company, founded in 2010, focuses on eco and green energy for data center development.

The first facility in the Meisterstat, Batam, Riau Islands will have a capacity of 16 MW from 2,500 racks. Aesler said that the data center is earthquake-resistant up to 9 MMI (Mercalli intensity scale) or about 6.9 on the Richter scale. The second facility will have a capacity of 16 MW, while the third facility will have a 56 MW capacity. The company has not mentioned the location details for the second and third facilities.
