Analog Switch Off Kicks Off, What's the Plan?
The government will stop broadcasting analog television for the first phase on April 30, 2022. Acting Director-General of Post and Information Technology at the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, Ismail, said it would distribute set-top boxes (STB) so that analog television can receive digital broadcasts on March 15, 2022. The distribution of STB is done door-to-door.
He said the STB is distributed through a logistics company as the third party. The company will also distribute and validate recipients, utilizing the Social Welfare Integrated Database (DTKS) for free STB recipients. "We plan to bring and validate the set-top box right away," he said on Wednesday, January 26, 2022.
