Indonesia-Singapore Travel Bubble Starts, What Are the Risks?
The Indonesian government has opened a special travel corridor or a travel bubble with Singapore. Coordinating Maritime Affairs and Investment Minister Luhut Panjaitan planned to add direct flights from Singapore to Bali, in addition to the travel bubble between Singapore to Batam-Bintan. "For example, from the Emirates airline for direct flights. But whether it is sustainable, we don't know," he said on Monday, January 24, 2022.
Meanwhile, Coordinating Economic Minister Airlangga Hartarto said the government had issued a regulation on travel bubble health protocols. It applies to international arrivals (PPLN) from Singapore to the Nongsapura Ferry Terminal in Batam and the Bandar Bintan Telani Ferry Terminal. International arrivals must:
- have received two doses of vaccine,
- show a negative result of evidence of a polymerase chain reaction (PCR) test taken 72 hours before departure,
- have an entry visa, except for Singaporeans who are part of the ASEAN visa-free scheme.
- have S$30,000 worth of insurance and use the PeduliLindung app.
