48 Ships from 29 Coal Companies Obtain Export Permits
Indonesia's Trade Ministry said 48 coal cargo ships from 29 mining companies had cleared export permits this year through January 29, 2022. "48 ships have been released, which belong to 29 companies. This is a recap until Tuesday morning," Director General of Foreign Trade Indrasari Wisnu Wardhana said on Tuesday.
According to Trade Minister Muhammad Lutfi, more ships may also be released as coal mining companies regain export permits. He said that as long as the coal mining company has fulfilled the domestic market obligation (DMO), the government will issue an export permit. "Basically, when the DMO is fulfilled, these companies can export. Many companies have not (fulfilled the DMO) and the mechanism is being worked on," he said.
