Abandoned Land Execution Begins
Local governments started revoking forest concession permits from corporations, including Central Sulawesi Provincial Government which revoked forest concession rights (HPH) from four companies. Central Sulawesi Governor M. Ridha Saleh said the effort follows up President Joko Widodo's (Jokowi) order.
"It's in line with the central government's policy to revoke mining and forestry business permits (IUP) and plantation concessions (HGU) that are problematic," Ridha said on Wednesday. The four companies whose licenses were revoked are PT Pasuruan Furnindo Industri with an HPH area of 47,915 hectares, PT Riu Mamba Karya Sentosa with (34,610 hectares), PT Kawisan Central Asia (3,444 hectares), and PT Tamako Graha Krida (7,895 hectares).
