Summary

State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) Minister Erick Thohir has dismissed Rudy Hendra Prastowo as PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN) Primary Energy Director after coal shortfalls at the company's coal-fired power plants (PLTU) and replaced him with Hartanto Wibowo. The decision is stated in Ministerial Decree Number SK-2/MBU.01/2022 dated January 6, 2022, on the Dismissal and Appointment of Members of PT PLN Board of Directors.

Erick emphasized that PLN Primary Energy Director had to manage the sufficiency of fuels, either coal or liquefied natural gas (LNG), for the company's power plants. He also hoped that Hartanto could solve the current coal and LNG supply problems. "I have asked Brother Hartanto to make sure things like these will not happen again. Indonesia is a natural resource-producing country, and I believe the amount is quite safe. Many countries with no natural resources do not experience energy crises. What does it mean? There is something that we have to fix together," Erick suggested.
