UpBanx to Provide Funds for Content Creators

Fintech platform UpBanx announced to have raised US$5.2 million of pre-seed funding from several investors. UpBanx Chief Executive Officer Wafa Taftazani explained that the startup would develop an integrated platform for content creators. "In addition to providing financial solutions, we will also facilitate collaborations between creators and brands," he said on January 1, 2022.

Several established names took part in the pre-seed funding round, such as Y Combinator, Alpha JWC Ventures, Alto Partners Multi-Family Office, Number Capital, UBI Capital, celebrities Raffi Ahmad and his wife Nagita Slavina, creator network Collab Asia, DRM (Digital Rantai Maya), and several angel investors. These angel investors include Melvin Hade (GFC partner), Hendra Kwik (CEO of Fazz Financial), Hendoko Kwik (CEO of Modal Rakyat), Budi Handoko (CEO of Shipper), and Arya Setiadharma (CEO of Prasetia Dwidharma). The capital raised by UpBanx will allow the company to fund content creators through various schemes.
