Summary

Several companies from Turkey, along with the Turkish Embassy in Indonesia, visited the Trans Sumatra toll road of the Pekanbaru-Dumai section. This visit was a follow-up assessment carried out by the Public Works and Housing Minister Basuki Hadimuljono to Turkey in early November 2021 for securing cooperation in infrastructure development.

Representatives of Turkish companies who visited the Trans Sumatra toll project site were from ERG Insaat Ticaret ve Sanayi and DORCE Ltd. The visit took place on December 14-15, 2021. In addition to seeing the Trans Sumatra Toll Road directly, the Indonesian and Turkish sides discussed funding for road projects and other cooperation opportunities. Herry Trisaputra Zuna, Director-General of Infrastructure Financing of the Public Works Ministry, said that this visit was only an initial assessment. "There are still many things that need to be completed in order to realize this collaboration," Herry said.
