Bukalapak Sets More Expansion in Game Business

Bukalapak and BRI Ventures joined a US$15 million funding round for Yield Guild Games Southeast Asia (YGG SEA), a game developer from the Philippines. YGG SEA is a sub-Decentralized Autonomous Organization (DAO) under the blockchain-based gaming company Yield Guild Games. "Bukalapak is always open to development," Head of Media and Communications for Bukalapak Fairuza Ahmad Iqbal said on Monday.

BRI Ventures invested in the game company through the Sembrani Kiqani venture fund. Sembrani targets early-stage startups in the direct-to-consumer (D2C) sector. "Supporting competing brands and ecosystems are at the heart of Sembrani Kiqani. With so many Indonesians wanting to enter the Metaverse, it's reasonable for us to partner with YGG SEA," says Founding Partner Sembrani Kiqani Marcel Lukman.
