WHO Alert: COVID-19 Infections Begin to Increase

Klaster baru penyebaran COVID-19
Summary

The World Health Organization (WHO) has warned the Indonesian government about a potential increase in hospitalized COVID-19 patients in Jakarta in the WHO Situation Report Indonesia on November 24, 2021. The document revealed a ten percent hike in hospitalized COVID-19 patients in Jakarta from the previous week. "On November 21, the number of COVID-19 patients hospitalized reached 200 cases, an increase from 180 cases one week earlier," WHO stated.

Besides Jakarta, WHO also mentioned several provinces with increased COVID-19 cases, including West Java, Central Java, Yogyakarta, East Java, and Banten, in line with a significant increase in mobility, driven by easing restriction on public activities. "Especially in transit, retail, and recreation stations." WHO said the mobility reached its pre-pandemic level, so the government had to make new plans to avoid soaring COVID-19 cases.
