fiber optic network
Summary

Indosat GIG, a fixed broadband service owned by PT Indosat Mega Media (IM2), stopped operating on November 25, 2021. IM2 is a subsidiary of PT Indosat Ooredoo Tbk (ISAT). The Directorate of Control at the Directorate General of Postal Equipment and Information Technology summoned several parties to discuss the issue.

"The discussion was carried out with IM2 President Director, and Indosat Director," Communications and Information Minister Johny G. Plate said n Tuesday, reminding IM2 to fulfill the requirements for service termination following Law (UU) No.36/1999 on Telecommunications and its implementing regulations. According to him, three conditions must be met by IM2 when discontinuing Indosat GIG services:

  1. IM2 must apply for service termination under applicable regulations.
  2. IM2 must give the option to the customer to get a transfer of service to another operator and refund the subscription fee that has been paid for the remaining unfulfilled subscription period, including the prepaid deposit paid by the customer.
  3. IM2 must fulfill other obligations, including payment of state receivables, and submit a proposal for settlement of obligations to the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology.
