Ajaib Ambition to Tap into Digital Bank Business

A stock investment platform provider in Indonesia, Ajaib, acquires 24 percent shares of PT Bank Bumi Arta Tbk (BNBA) shares worth IDR 745.67 billion. Anderson Sumarli, Director of PT Takjub Finansial Teknologi (Ajaib), said the company bought 554,400,000 shares or 24 percent of the total issued and fully paid capital in Bank Bumi Arta.

The transaction took place in the negotiating market on November 17 with a purchase price of Rp 1,345 per share. This purchase price showed a hefty discount of 64.3 percent to the November 16 closing price of Rp. 3,770 per share.

The shareholders of Bank Bumi Arta who sold their shares to Ajaib were PT Surya Husada Investment, PT Dana Graha Agung, and PT Budiman Kencana Lestari. Here are the details:
- PT Surya Husada Investment sold 277.2 million shares or 11.95 percent
- PT Dana Graha Agung sold 166.32 million shares or 7.17 percent
- PT Budiman Kencana Lestari sold 110.88 million shares or 4.78 percent
After the transaction, Surya Husada Investment remains the controlling shareholder of BNBA with a 33.5 percent share ownership.
