Bank Muamalat Prospect Under New Investor
PT Bank Muamalat Indonesia Tbk will conduct a rights issue after the Hajj Fund Management Agency (BPKH) becomes the new controlling shareholder. The first Islamic bank in Indonesia aims to raise fresh funds worth Rp 1.2 trillion. Shareholders approved the corporate action at the Extraordinary Shareholder Meeting (RUPSLB) on August 30, 2021.
The funds raised from the rights issue will be used to strengthen the bank's capital structure. It plans to develop sharia financing, which is part of its primary business activities. In addition, the funds will be used to support the company's business growth. Bank Muamalat will also issue subordinated Sukuk instruments worth Rp 2 trillion.
