INA to Manage Indonesia’s New Capital City Investment
Bahlil Lahadalia, Investment Minister/Head of Indonesia's Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM), revealed that the United Arab Emirates (UAE) would soon inject US$10 billion or about Rp 145 trillion (at an exchange rate of Rp 14,500 per US$) for the construction of the new capital city.
He explained that the UAE's investment value for the new capital city would be part of the total investment commitment worth US$44.6 billion as stated in the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Indonesian government, signed by both countries last week. The UAE vows to realize all of its investment no later than the beginning of 2024. The UAE will invest in the new capital city’s building constructions and information and technology (IT), and renewable energy facilities.
