Indonesian Govt Lowers PCR Test Tariff Cap

Indonesia's Ministry of Health cuts the COVID-19 polymerase chain reaction (PCR) test price lower than that President Joko Widodo requested. As regulated in Circular Letter Number HK 02.02/1/3843/2021, the government set the highest PCR test rate at Rp 275,000 for the Java-Bali and Rp 300,000 for other regions. Director-General of Health Services Abdul Kadir said the tariff includes service components, consumables materials, overhead, and other costs.
"The test result must come out within 24 hours of the test," Abdul Kadir said on Wednesday. The rate changes the previous cap in effect from August 2021 at Rp 495,000 for Java-Bali and Rp 525,000 for other regions.
