Hacker Attacks Hit Indonesian Agency: Calling for Cyber War?

The National Malware Center site owned by the National Cyber ​​and Encryption Agency (BSSN), the government agency tasked with maintaining cybersecurity, was hacked on Monday. BSSN spokesperson Anton Setiawan specified that a hacker attacked the home page, commonly known as website defacement. He revealed the Computer Security Incident Response Team (CSIRT) had been working on this issue because "the site contains data about the malware repository."

The home page of the National Malware Center or pusmanasbssn.go.id was gone, replaced by a page with the words "Hacked by theMxonday" on it. This hacker admitted that it was retaliation against Indonesian hackers who hacked a site in Brazil. The hacker also mocked that hacking the site was a child's play. The co-founder of the Indonesia Cyber ​​Security Forum Novel Ariyadi believed that the attack was part of a cybercrime aiming to attack the institution's reputation and public trust, or in this case, was to embarrass BSSN.
