Bad-Record Accountants in SOEs Auditors’ Appointment
State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs) Ministry issued letter Number S-199/MBU/DKU/08/2021 containing a list of public accounting firms (KAP) for accounting services. There are 12 KAPs that 108 SOEs can use as providers of accounting services and auditing financial statements in the list. SOEs Minister Special Staff Arya Sinulingga said the government only wants KAPs with good reputations and credibility to audit SOEs.
According to Arya, the ministry has some considerations on the back of the letter's issuance. So far, 47 KAPs have become independent auditors for SOEs. However, 20 of them are not registered with the Financial Services Authority (OJK), the Supreme Audit Agency (BPK), and the Ministry of Finance. In addition, some accounting firms have been blacklisted but are still used by several SOEs. "This doesn't make sense because if one or two SOEs have blocked the accounting firms, it should not be used by the others," Arya told Katadata on Friday (10/9).
The 12 accounting firms appointed in the SOE Minister's letter are:
- Amir Abadi Jusuf, Aryanto, Mawar & Partner (RSM Int.).
- Djoko Sidik & Indra (ANTEA-Alliance of Independent Firms).
- Gani Sigiro & Handayani (Grant Thornton).
- Heliantono & Rekan (Parker Randall International).
- Hendrawinata Hanny Erwin & Sumargo (Kreston Int.).
- Hertanto Grace Karunawan (TIAG).
- Imelda & Rekan (Deloitte).
- Kanaka Puradiredja, Suhartono (Nexia Int.).
- Kosasih, Nurdiyaman, Mulyadi, Tjahjo & Partners (Crowe Horwath).
- Paul Hadiwinata, Hidajat, Arsono, Retno, Palilingan & Partners (PKF Int.).
- Purwantono, Sungkoro & Surja (Ernst & Young).
- Tanudiredja, Wibisana, Rintis & Partners (Pricewaterhouse Coopers).
