WMP Group to Erect 158-MWp Solar Farm

PT Widodo Makmur Perkasa (WMP Group), engaging in agricultural and consumer goods sectors, plans to build solar power plants (PLTS) with a total capacity of 158 megawatt-peak (MWp) until 2026. On Monday (30/8), it signed a cooperation agreement with SUN Energy and Agra Surya Energy for the installation of solar panels at its production facilities.

WMP Group will start the project by installing solar panels with a capacity of 37.7 MWp, expectedly completed in the first quarter of 2022. WMP CEO, Tumiyana, revealed that the plan was necessary to realize the green business transformation. The project also poses tangible proof of the company's commitment to environmental, social, and governance (ESG) principles. "The company will focus not only on solar panel installation but also other sustainable transformations," he explained.
