China Consortium to Develop Amman’s EPC Smelter

PT Amman Mineral Industri (AMIN) appointed China Nonferrous Metal Industry's Foreign Engineering and Construction Co Ltd (NFC) as the engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contractor for the copper smelter project in West Sumbawa, West Nusa Tenggara. PT Amman Mineral Nusa Tenggara’s (AMNT) subsidiary also appointed China Nerin Engineering Co Ltd as the technical service provider, marked by the issuance of a letter of intent (LoI) which was signed on 22 July.

AMIN's President Director, Rachmat Makkasau, said the appointment process had been happening for quite some time and was full of challenges amid the COVID-19 pandemic. However, "In the bidding and negotiation process, both parties have agreed on EPC contractor’s works, along with technical and commercial provisions for the contract," he revealed in a written statement on Monday (7/26).
