Airline Industry to Welcome Budget Carrier Super Air Jet

The Super Air Jet (SAJ) airline has obtained an Air Operator Certificate (AOC) from the Transportation Ministry. According to the Transportation Ministry's Director General of Civil Aviation Novie Riyanto, SAJ - affiliated with several figures in the Lion Air group - has gone through a certification process to operate the Airbus A320 aircraft.

The AOC from the Transportation Ministry was issued on June 27, 2021. "With the completion of all stages of certification, we declare that Super Air Jet meets all technical and safety requirements as an AOC holder. Super Air Jet fulfills the requirements by operating three A320 aircraft in accordance with the provisions of one owned and two controlled [through leasing]," Novie said. Super Air Jet also cooperates with PT Batam Aero Technic, a maintenance repair and overhaul (MRO) company belonging to the Lion Air group.
