Petronas to Survey Oil and Gas Potential in Bukit Panjang
Petronas plans to conduct a survey in the Bukit Panjang Field, located off the northern coast of East Java. Focusing on the 29-kilometer-long Gresik coastline, the survey will take place from July 1 to 9, 2021. Senior Manager of the Upstream Oil and Gas Regulatory Special Task Force (SKK Migas), Jabanusa Doni Arianto, said the Malaysian energy company would survey the Manyar, Bungah, and Sidayu districts. "It aims to examine the seabed contours," he said on Wednesday (6/16).
The total length of the surveyed area will reach 137 kilometers, from the coastal area of Madura to Gresik. Petronas GSR Senior Manager, Andiono Setiawan, revealed that the one conducting the survey in the Bukit Panjang Field was a third party. The survey will only use a trinity ship sailing along the coast while sonar scanning the seabed surface.
