Here’s How Telkom and Netflix Collaboration Will Benefit Customers

After long and complicated negotiations, Telkom Indonesia and the video-on-demand platform, Netflix, are now collaborating on various projects. Telkom and Netflix recently announced a partnership that allows consumers to enjoy premium internet connections through IndiHome and Telkomsel. "Telkom and Netflix understand that the consumer’s experience is our priority," Telkom's Director of Wholesale and International Service, Dian Rachmawan, revealed on Thursday (4/29).

Dian explained that streaming video services like Netflix have been dominating bandwidth consumption by up to 70 percent of the total internet traffic. As a result, Telkom is trying to increase network capacity to anticipate the increase in video streaming traffic. Netflix's Vice President Business Development, Tony Zameczkowski, said the partnership with Telkom would reach more entertainment enthusiasts. "Our partnership with Telkom will make it easier for consumers to subscribe to Netflix and enjoy high-quality video streaming on the Telkom network," he revealed.
