Alfamart to Acquire Bank Aladin. Will It End Well?
The operator of Alfamart outlets, PT Sumber Alfaria Trijaya Tbk (AMRT), plans to increase the company’s capital through pre-emptive rights to subscribe securities (HMETD) or a rights issue this year. In the disclosure of information to regulators on April 13, Alfamart revealed the plan to invest in technology companies that could support its businesses.
As a result, Alfamart will provide about five billion new shares even though it has not determined the price yet. However, AMRT shareholders refusing to exercise their rights in the corporate action will risk diluting their share ownerships to a maximum of 10.75 percent. “The controlling shareholders do not change due to the rights issue," the Alfamart operator explained.
