Summary

The Trans Sumatra toll road project is likely to receive new financing. The Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) offers financing for the Trans Sumatra toll road and its supporting infrastructure. AIIB Vice President Chief Luky Eko Wuryanto said that he had communicated with the Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) Ministry regarding the Trans-Sumatra toll road's financing. "Yes, of course, you can if Indonesia wants it," he said on Wednesday (4/7).

According to Luky, his talks with the government regarding the 2,704 kilometer Trans Sumatra toll road project have not resulted in any agreement. Besides the Trans-Sumatra toll road, he said that AIIB is currently discussing a plan to finance industrial estate infrastructure development projects. According to him, the plan is still being explored.
