Polyethylene Recycling: The Future of Indonesia's Plastics Industry?

Coca-Cola Amatil Indonesia and Dynapack Asia announced the construction of a 20,000 square meter Polyethylene Terephthalate (PET) recycling facility located in Bekasi, West Java. With an investment of Rp 556.2 billion, Coca-Cola and Dynapack will create a closed-loop for plastic beverage packaging.
The recycling facility is targeted to be completed in 2022 and will produce food and beverage safe plastic pellets made from post-consumption plastic bottles. Once completed, Coca-Cola Amatil Indonesia can reduce the amount of new plastic resin by around 25,000 tons per year. PT Amandina Bumi Nusantara will operate this recycling facility, while Mahija Paramita Nusantara will manage its collection center.
