Erick Thohir and Co to Own Oxford United?
The State-Owned Enterprises Minister (BUMN), a renowned businessman Erick Thohir, has returned to the football business. Erick has reportedly become one of Persis Solo’s several new owners at the Extraordinary General Meeting of Shareholders (RUPSLB) of PT Persis Solo Saestu (PSS) on Saturday (3/20).
Currently, Erick Thohir owns 20 percent shares in Persis Solo. Meanwhile, Erick's son, Mahendra Agakhan Thohir, will serve as the president commissioner of PT PSS. Apart from the Erick family, President Joko Widodo's youngest son, Kaesang Pangarep, is also one of Persis Solo’s new owners after purchasing 40 percent of the stake, followed by businessman Abadi Kevin Nugroho, buying 30 percent of the club’s stake.
At the same time, an Indonesian consortium led by Erick and Anindya Bakrie is reportedly going to buy all shares of an English football club, Oxford United. Erick intends to become a majority shareholder in the London-based football club.
