PT Bio Farma (Persero) changed the expiration date for the first batch of CoronaVac COVID-19 vaccine made by Sinovac. Bio Farma's Covid-19 vaccination spokesperson Bambang Heriyanto said the expiration date recorded in the Sinovac's vaccine packaging is up to 2023, but it was brought forward to March 2021. "In the emergency use authorization (EUA), the expiration date is as approved by the Drug and Food Monitoring Agency [BPOM]," he said on Wednesday (3/10).

Bambang stated that the expiring first batch shots had been distributed in early January 2021. According to him, vaccines that have been distributed would be used as soon as possible. "It cannot be stored until it expires, but it is used," he said. Bambang estimated that all the Covid-19 vaccines that have been distributed were already used up.
