PGN Prepares Lampung LNG Terminal to Supply Muara Tawar Power Plant

PT Perusahaan Gas Negara Tbk (PGN) provides a liquefied natural gas (LNG) terminal and LNG regasified gas distribution in Lampung. The LNG terminal is connected to the South Sumatra West Java (SSWJ) transmission pipeline and supplies gas for electricity generation in Muara Tawar Power Plant owned by PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN).

PGN's Director of Strategy and Business Development, Syahrial Mukhtar, said the Muara Tawar power plant is PGN's anchor buyer in West Java, with the gas absorption, could exceed 200 BBTUd. As a result, the Muara Tawar plant contributed 24 percent to PGN's total gas absorption. "With such cooperation, it can increase gas absorption and Muara Tawar's portion to around 45 percent of the total gas demand for the power plant sector," Syahrial said in an official statement on Wednesday (3/3).
