Regional Investment Permit Regulation is Out: What Are the Facilities?
The government will enforce the Government Regulation (PP) No. 6/2021 on Ease of Doing Business in Regions in April 2021. This secondary legislation of Law No. 11/2020 on Job Creation aims to facilitate the issuance of regional business permits through the Online Single Submission (OSS) and the use of licensing classification based on the risk level: low, medium, and high.
The Tangerang Regent, Ahmed Zaki Iskandar, hoped that the new regulation could improve the business and investment climate in the regions. "Easier licensing process allows foreign and domestic investments to flock in," he said. The Head of the Palembang City Investment and One-Stop Service Agency (DPMPTSP), Akhmad Mustain, said that permits for low-risk businesses such as restaurants would be easier than those for high-risk companies. "They just need to take care of their Business Identification Number (NIB). Meanwhile, for high-risk businesses such as a medical waste management facility, several additional documents must be added," he said.
