Jakarta Floods Impede Logistics Business
Floods in Jakarta, Bogor, Depok, Tangerang, and Bekasi on February 20-22, 2021, disrupted the logistics business. Indonesian Logistics Association (ALI) Chairman, Zaldy Ilham Masita, revealed that the floods had severely stunned logistics deliveries. "Especially e-commerce deliveries as well as deliveries to retail stores," he said, Monday (22/2).
Zaldy also admitted that he was still calculating the potential losses due to the floods. He also revealed that last year’s floods forced the industry to lose up to Rp 45 billion per day. According to Zaldy, the damage caused by last year’s floods was very huge, especially because activities at Tanjung Priok Port were disrupted. Meanwhile, Jakarta Governor, Anies Baswedan, claimed that the flood had receded 100 percent on February 22 early in the morning. He admitted that the floods did not last long due to the water pumps. "All economic and government activities, governance can take place without the slightest disturbance."
