Jawa-1 FSRU Ready to Regasify LNG from Tangguh Refinery

LNG Tanker and Terminal
Summary

Badak LNG has completed the Gassing Up and Cooling Down (GU/CD) process of the Java Satu floating storage regasification unit (FSRU). The vessel is integrated with the Jawa-1 Combined Cycle Gas Turbine Plant (PLTGU). The GU/CD process, taking place on February 12-14, 2021, aims to prepare it for the liquefied natural gas (LNG) regasification and store the output safely.

According to Badak LNG Corporate Secretary, Henny Trisnadewi, all the GU/CD processes for the Jawa-1 FSRU ran safely and smoothly, requiring about 40 hours to finish, or 2 hours shorter than the initial estimate. "The GU/CD activity is one of the company’s commitments to support and serve the success of the Jawa-1 IPP (Independent Power Producer) Project," he stated in a written statement on Tuesday (2/16).
