Pertamina Appoints Former Schlumberger CEO to Lead PGE

PT Pertamina has decided to overhaul the board of directors of several sub-holdings and subsidiaries to improve the performance, allowing the company to expand its business portfolio. For example, it transforms PT Pertamina Geothermal Energy (PGE), Pertamina Power Indonesia’s (PPI) subsidiary, as a sub-holding company on power and NRE (new and renewable energy).
After being vacant for seven months since the transformation of five sub-holdings on June 12, 2020, Pertamina finally appointed Ahmad Subarkah Yuniarto as the president director of PGE. Ahmad was the former Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Schlumberger Indonesia.
The new directors of sub-holding and its subsidiaries, including PGE, will hopefully be able to strengthen Pertamina’s operation so it can be more adaptive and effective in managing and providing the energy for the people, including those in remote parts of the country. They are also expected to expand the company’s businesses, especially in the new and renewable energy (NRE) sector.
