New Risks Arise as Indonesia Lacks COVID-19 Tracers
The government revealed new unpleasant facts in COVID-19 pandemic handling. The Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture Muhadjir Effendy said COVID-19 tracer personnel were only 5,000 people. Of that number, 1,600 tracers are in Jakarta, while the remaining 3,400 people are spread across Indonesia.
"I was surprised when I got the report that we only have less than 5,000 tracers. Judging from the number, we have not made any serious 3T efforts," he said on Friday (2/3), referring to the government-led tracing, testing, and treatment protocols for handling COVID-19. Therefore, Muhadjir said the highest COVID-19 spread occurred at the community level, including the family environment. "We continue to improve and mobilize tracer forces as much as possible," he said.
