Bank Indonesia (BI) released the Business Activity Survey (SKDU) data. The survey shows that business activities still contracted (negative growth) in the fourth quarter of 2020. "The results of the Business Activity Survey (SKDU) indicate that business has improved in the fourth quarter of 2020, although still contracting, as reflected in the weighted net balance (WNB) of -3.90 percent the fourth quarter of 2020, improving from -5.97 percent in the previous quarter," the central bank said in a written statement, Wednesday (1/13).

The fourth quarter's business activities recovery was driven by the recovery in several sectors, including the Transportation and Communication sector; Finance, Real Estate and Corporate Services; Electricity, Gas and Clean Water; and Services. Besides, the trade sector, hotel and restaurant, manufacturing, and construction sectors also improved.
