PGN Eyes to Complete Strategic Infrastructure Projects in 2021-2023
PT Perusahaan Gas Negara Tbk (PGN) is targeting to complete the strategic infrastructure projects from 2021 to 2023. Among these projects is the Rokan Block oil transmission pipeline, the North and Central Sumatra transmission pipeline, the South Sumatra West Java (SSWJ)-West Java Area (WJA) integration pipeline, gas utilization pipeline for petrochemicals, transmission pipelines in Kalimantan, transmission pipelines in Central Java and Kendal-Semarang-Demak distribution, and pipes for industrial, commercial, and household customers.
SVP Corporate Communication and Investor Relations of PT Pertamina, PGN's holding company, Agus Suprijanto, said the Rokan Block oil transmission pipeline project supports the government's program to increase production from Riau-based oil and gas working area in 2021. "The Rokan Block is the backbone of national oil production, as well as one of the largest oil blocks in Indonesia," he said in a press release.
Besides, Agus said PGN would provide gas for the fulfillment of all Pertamina refineries. One of the targets in 2021 is the completion of the refinery gasification program in Balongan. Currently, the existing Balongan Refinery's gasification has been fulfilled through gas distribution from PT Pertamina EP and PT Pertamina Hulu Energi via PT Pertamina Gas pipelines. Fulfilling long-term needs is in line with PGN's Long-term Company (RJPP) through the construction of SSWJ-WJA interconnection pipes to be completed in the first half of 2021.
