Tri Rismaharini, the new Minister of Social Affairs, has received support to compete in the Jakarta Governor Election in 2022. Support came from a group calling itself Tri Rismaharini Troop Volunteers (Pasutri). The group leader Khoirul Amin said that the capital city needs a leader like Risma, who has proven to be able to bring changes in the city that she leads.

Even though the plan for the declaration of support on January 9 was canceled, Risma has already indicated that she is ready to be nominated. The former Surabaya mayor said she could not refuse to compete in the Jakarta Governor Election if the public supported her. "When I was nominated as mayor for the second time, I asked God not to be. But I was still elected. This means that I cannot avoid destiny," she said.
