BP-AKR to Erect 15 Fueling Stations This Year
PT Aneka Petroindo Raya (APR), a joint venture between BP and PT AKR Corporindo Tbk (BP-AKR), keeps expanding the business by adding more fueling stations (SPBU). APR Brand and Communication Manager, Syahran Wahab, revealed that this year BP-AKR would build 15 gas stations in Jakarta, Bogor, Depok, Tangerang, Bekasi (Jabodetabek), and Surabaya areas, both using company-owned-company-operated (COCO) and dealer-owned-dealer-operate (DODO) schemes. Such a strategy is necessary to meet the BP-AKR target of building 350 gas stations in Indonesia in a decade since 2018.
Syahran ensured that the company did not rule out the possibility of expanding to the outside of Jabodetabek and Surabaya. “BP-AKR will always monitor market developments and geographic conditions in selecting the potential location for the gas stations during the planning stage, for sure,” he explained on Tuesday (1/12). About 12 BP-AKR’s gas stations are currently in Jabodetabek and four others in Surabaya.
