LNG Tanker and Terminal
Summary

PT Pertamina has officially named the new floating storage regasification unit (FSRU) as FSRU Jawa Satu. Pertamina President Director, Nicke Widyawati, revealed that the ship would regasify the liquefied natural gas (LNG) supply from the Tangguh Refinery in March 2021. Afterward, the gas will be distributed via a 21-kilometer pipeline to the Java-1 gas-fired power plant (PLTGU) in Karawang Regency, West Java.

She also said that the FSRU Jawa Satu would enter Indonesian waters in January 2021, after departing from the Samsung Heavy Industries shipyard in Busan, South Korea. The ship, an integrated part of the Jawa 1 plant, has also successfully conducted sea and gas trials. "This will be a historic momentum in the energy industry development, especially in Indonesia’s energy sustainability," she explained on Wednesday (12/16).
