Why development of KEK Bitung stagnates?
The Presidential Staff Office (KSP) discovered problems hampering the development of the Bitung Special Economic Zone (KEK) in North Sulawesi. Deputy III of KSP, Panutan Sulendrakusuma, said one of the problems is that not many investors have returned due to the COVID-19 pandemic. "We will follow up all these findings so that the development of the Bitung KEK will accelerate," he said.
Secretary of One Stop Services (PTSP), Julius Talimbekas, said that the Bitung KEK had received support from the surrounding community. He claimed that the Bitung KEK is suitable as a trade gateway to countries in the Asia Pacific, especially because there is Bitung International Port, which also acts as a link between eastern Indonesia and other regions.
