Summary

The State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) Minister, Erick Thohir, has appointed another young Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to lead a state-owned subsidiary. He appointed I Ketut Adiputra Karang, 31 years old, as the President Director of PT Jasamarga Bali Tol. "Being one of the youngest directors of an SEO is not easy and requires hard work," Erick revealed via his Instagram account on Monday, November 23, 2020.

Erick also previously appointed Achmad Didi Ardianto, a professional he called "the SOE young cadre," as the CEO of PT Garam (Persero). However, unlike other SOE millennial officials, aged around 35-45 years, Didi, who previously served as the executive vice president at PT Freeport Indonesia, was 51 years old. Erick also argued that being young should not prevent someone from becoming an SOE CEO. "We do not hesitate to recruit people from outside the company who are considered the best. He accepts the challenge, thank God," he said.
